Join the legendary Bontekoerace and experience an unforgettable sailing weekend full of sportsmanship, excitement and camaraderie!

  • Friday, October 24th 2025: Boarding from 8:00 PM in Hoorn: After registration, meet your crew and enjoy a relaxed evening.
  • Saturday, October 25th 2025: After breakfast, we prepare the ship for the first race start at 10:00 AM. Around midday, we return to harbour for the results announcement
  • Sunday, October 26th 2025: Second race start at 11:00 AM with arrival around 2:30 PM, followed by the ceremonial prize giving at 5:00 PM in Hoorn.

The Bontekoerace has been held annually since 1992 on the last weekend of October on the Markermeer near Hoorn. Originally founded as an alternative to the overcrowded Muider Hardzeildagen, this traditional regatta marks the ceremonial end of the sailing season. What began with just a few ships has grown into a magnificent event celebrating the diversity of Dutch sailing heritage with clippers, tjalks, schouwen, botters and kwakken.
